Früh am Morgen habe ich ein letztes Mal meine Rucksäcke geschultert, habe ein paar letzte Bulas gehört, bin zum letzten Mal in einen Shuttlebus gestiegen, habe zum letzten Mal Fidschi-Luft geschnuppert.
Die Fahrt zum Flughafen war recht kurz, somit hieß es auch bald zum letzten Mal Gepäck aufgeben, einen letzten Kaffee am Flughafen trinken und die letzten Fidschi-Dollar im Duty-Free-Shop ausgeben.
Kurz vor unserer Boardingtime plötzlich eine Durchsage: „Achtung, Achtung, es wurde Feuer im Gebäude gemeldet. Bitte sofort evakuieren“. Als nach einer guten Viertelstunde die Durchsage verstummte und alles weiterhin seinen gewohnten Gang genommen hatte, war ich dann doch etwas verunsichert, ob außer mir noch jemand den Feueralarm gehört hat. Zumindest hätte hinterher keiner sagen können, die Menschen hätten nicht die Ruhe bewahrt!
Der erste von zwei 10-Stunden-Flügen verlief ohne weitere Probleme. Zum Glück hatte ich einen Doppelsitz für mich allein. So konnte ich mich beim kollektiven Filmegucken (Monitor für jeden? Nix da!) wenigstens gemütlich in die Sitze kuscheln.
Das Essen war auch ok, ich hatte ja beim Hinflug aufgepasst und mir gemerkt, wovon ich lieber Abstand nehmen sollte 
In Seoul angekommen, hab ich meinen Hangepäckrucksack genommen (den großen sollte ich, hoffentlich, erst in Frankfurt wiedersehen), mir einen weiteren hübschen Stempel in den Reisepass knallen lassen, meine restlichen Australien-Dollar in Won umgetauscht und nach einer Weile sogar rausgefunden, wo ich hinmusste.
Auf Grund der Zeitverschiebung oder Flugverbot oder warum auch immer musste ich nämlich, leider leider, eine Nacht in Seoul verbringen. Als Unterkunft war dafür das 4-Sterne Hotel Hyatt in der Nähe des Flughafens vorgesehen. Angemessen, würde ich sagen…
Vorm Hotel (jawohl, ohne „s“ in der Mitte!) standen goldene Gepäckwagen und wäre die Tür nicht automatisch gewesen, hätte man sie mir bestimmt aufgehalten. Auf dem Gutschein, den man mir am Flughafen gegeben hatte, gab es die Kategorien „Einzel-, Doppel- und Dreibettzimmer“. Bei „Einzelzimmer“ war ein komischer Schnörkel, bei den anderen beiden ein Kreuz. Was sollte das nun bedeuten?
Als ich die Tür von Zimmer 541 öffnete (mit so einer komischen Karte, die man einfach nur vors „Schloss“ hält!), traf mich bald der Schlag: Ein Einzelzimmer! Aber was für eins! In der Größe eines 10er Dorms, mindestens!
Eigenes Bad mit Badewanne und warmem Wasser und Licht rund um die Uhr. Ein Fernseher mit dazugehörigem Lautsprecher im Badezimmer. Ein Schreibtisch. Eine Minibar. Ein begehbarer Kleiderschrank (gut, da konnte ich nun nix reinhängen. Ich hatte ja nur das mit, was ich anhatte, meinen Schlafanzug und was Frisches für den nächsten Tag). Und vor allem: Ein riesengroßes Bett, ganz für mich allein! Ohne Luftmatratze! Ohne ein anderes Bett drunter oder drüber. Mit richtigen Kissen. Und richtigen Decken. Ich konnte mein Glück kaum fassen. Und das alles für nur eine Nacht!?!?!? So eine Schande… (Die Nacht kostet wohl so um die 200 Euro….)
Die anschließende Erkundungstour brachte noch einen Wellnessbereich zum Vorschein, diverse Restaurants, ein Casino, jede Menge wichtige Menschen in Anzügen (ich kam mir ein klitzekleines bisschen underdressed vor, aber das sind die da bestimmt gewohnt; immer diese Backpacker…) und Hotelangestellte, die sich sofort auf einen stürzten und nach dem Anliegen fragten, sobald man sich der Rezeption näherte.
Das im Preis inbegriffene Abendessen war auch nicht zu verachten. Danach bin ich noch auf einen Sprung im Casino gewesen, habe ein Vermögen verspielt und mich dann in mein Reich zurückgezogen, ich musste ja noch baden!
Fürs Frühstück am nächsten Morgen hatte ich extra viel Zeit eingeplant – zu Recht, wie sich herausstellte. Mir wurde mein Platz zugewiesen, ich hab mir einen großen Teller geschnappt und mich am Buffet angestellt. Nunja… Wer gern Braten, Bohnen, Speck, Reis, Nudeln, Suppe, Pilze, Salat und ähnliche Leckereien zum Frühstück isst, für den war das sicher das Schlaraffenland. Ich hab mir erst mal zwei Bratkartoffeln und ein Brötchen genommen, in der Hoffnung, noch was anderes zu finden.
Und ich habs gefunden! Muffins, Waffeln, Croissants, Donuts, Obst… Jawoll.
Ab dann passierte eigentlich nichts Spannendes mehr. Ein letztes Mal einchecken, ein letztes Mal fremde Währung ausgeben, ein letzter Stempel im Pass, ein letztes Mal den Platz im Flieger suchen…
Diesmal hatte ich sogar meinen eigenen Fernseher (leider mit einigen Farbproblemen, aber manche Filme und Spiele sind ja auch in schwarz-weiß unterhaltsam) und konnte meine riesigen Kino-Lücken zumindest ein bisschen auffüllen.
Gute 10 Stunden später zog sich der Himmel ums Flugzeug rum zu, aus den weißen Schäfchenwolken wurde eine geschlossene graue Wolkendecke – wir näherten uns Frankfurt.
Back in Germany- was mir nicht zuletzt die ca. 10 Grad kälteren Temperaturen sondern auch die überschwengliche Freundlichkeit der Zollbeamten bewies. (…Wann bitte geht der nächste Flug zurück?..)
Nach ewiger Wartezeit am Gepäckband kam zum letzten Mal mein Rucksack angefahren und ich konnte mich endlich von meinen Lieben in Empfang nehmen lassen.
Die Fahrt nach Hause im hammergeilen, nagelneuen Auto („150 km von Frankfurt entfernt? Das ist ja fast noch ein Vorort“ sprach der Australier) wurde mir zusätzlich durch so vermisste Dinge wie Spezi und ein Sonnenblumenkernbrötchen mit Gouda versüßt. Es schüttete wie aus Eimern, danke Petrus, willkommen daheim.
Zu Hause flatterte die Australienfahne auf der Garage – und da steht sie immer noch (zum Leidwesen meiner Mama ). Aber ist doch schließlich einfacher, als sie in Zukunft ständig auf und ab zu bauen.
Denn bis zu meiner nächsten Reise ans andere, vielleicht schönste, Ende der Welt wird es nicht wieder 22c Jahre dauern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
